The 2015 FEMIS international competitive exam is now open

The international competitive exam is open to candidates from countries outside the European Economic Area, aged under 27 years old on january 1st 2015. Foreign (non-European) candidates holding the equivalent of the baccalauréat must have validated at least two years higher education and present a certified translation of their diplomas. The international competition is also open to candidates under 30 years old on january 1st 2015, holding the equivalent of the baccalauréat and who have proof of at least four years’ professional activity. Candidates holding dual nationality (French/other) must take the open competition (“concours général”).

Spoken and written French are essential as both the examinations and teaching at the school are in French.

La Fémis (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Métiers de l’Image et du Son) is the French state film school under the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture and Communication. It is funded by the CNC (France’s National Centre of Cinematography and the Moving Image).

The School’s core activity is training students on the various disciplines of film: directing, cinematography, producing, screenwriting, editing, sound production, production design, continuity, distribution and cinema management. Two new programmes were introduced at the start of the 2013 school year: ’TV Series Development’ and an ’art and design’ PhD (as part of PSL’s SACRe doctoral programme).
